Confirmation Retreat Update
This past weekend, October 9-10, our 7 & 8 Grade Confirmation group embarked on a weekend retreat to Camp Lakeview in Seymour, IN. Each year we take this group on a retreat to grow in relationships together, spend time away resting from their busy schedules, and ultimately learning what it means to be children of a loving God.
The theme for this year’s retreat was “Who do you Trust?” We focused on Proverbs 3:5-6, which says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” This group spent time in Bible study, led one another on a trust walk, and worshiped God through song on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
A huge “thank you” goes to the Confirmation Small Group Leaders. They serve every week during the education hour and took time away from their families to play a powerful role in leading the students in this retreat. Thanks also to our newly formed High School Leadership Team who helped lead the weekend events. Please keep all these high school students and adult leaders in your prayers as they continue to play an influential role in the faith life of our Student Ministry at Cornerstone Lutheran Church. And, continue to lift the students in our 7 & 8 grade Confirmation and Bible Study in prayer as they prepare to profess their faith in their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
