Building Relationships in Guatemala

The Guatemala mission team returned home this Sunday after serving in El Maguey, Guatemala, for a week-long mission trip with CALMS (Central American Lutheran Mission Society). Cornerstone has been blessed to work alongside the people of El Maguey for many years, and on this trip, they were able to build new relationships and rekindle old friendships made on previous trips.

The team consisted of nine CLC disciples (college students and adults) and two college students from Concordia University-Wisconsin. The team assisted in the construction of a classroom addition at the local preschool, teaching English classes at the elementary school, and leading Vacation Bible School at the church in El Maguey. They were also able to connect with two other villages to see the needs for future projects to serve those communities. The team ended their trip with a day in the beautiful city of Antigua, Guatemala, where they did sightseeing and hiked a volcano.
