A Letter From Pastor Jason

Pastor Jason Accepts Call to Trinity Lutheran in Hillsboro, Oregan

When Lauren and I accepted the call to Cornerstone five years ago, we did it because we had a clear sense that it was the next right move for us. That has been true many times over! In these last five years I have had the opportunity to do valuable ministry, learn in a healthy and highly successful congregation, travel the world, work with a gifted and dedicated team, and dive deep into an area of ministry that is a passion for me—and to be supported and encouraged in all of that by so many of you who are capable and eager to do Kingdom work.

Over the past two years, we have returned (declined) eight calls to stay at Cornerstone, and in fact we tried very hard to stay this time. Several times over the two months since I received this call we thought we would stay. However, the consistent pull during this season has been that, this time, the next right move is for us to go to Trinity. As any of you would, we have sought to follow God’s leading in this and I believe He speaks through those consistent nudges so we have decided to follow that.

Cornerstone will always have a special place in my heart and in our family. On top of the amazing work we have done together, this is where both of our boys were born, and you all have loved them lavishly. As often as we think of Cornerstone, it will be with gratitude to God for the chance to have been a part of it!
