Backpacks, Disco, Tag, & Roller Coasters!

This past weekend was a busy one for Faith Formation and our students! From blessing backpacks to dancing in silence, from playing gel tag to riding roller coasters, they made the most of every last minute together before the start of the school year.

Level Up Sunday/Backpack Blessing: We had fun celebrating Level Up Sunday at our Carmel, Fishers, Eagle Creek, and Indy sites on Sunday, August 2! During our worship services, we had a backpack blessing and covered our students in prayer for their year ahead! During our Education Time, we made backpack tags, played games, made Sunshine Bags for Cornerstone teachers, and connected with each other over yummy food. We are continuing our collection for Cornerstone Warren School: pencils, crayons, sandwich bags, folders, band aids. Please bring your school supply donations to one of our sites by next Sunday, August 9. We pray that our students have a wonderful start to the school year!

Silent Disco:  Student Ministry had a great night of fun and community at our Silent Disco hosted at our Fishers site. (What is Silent Disco? It’s a dancy party where people listen to music using special wireless headphones instead of loudspeakers. From the outside, the room looks quiet with people dancing in silence, but inside the headphones, the music plays loud and clear.) Students enjoyed dancing, connecting with each other, and sharing plenty of laughs throughout the evening. Congratulations to Vicar Aaron and his wife, Meg, who, if awards were given, would have taken home the award for Best Disco Outfit!

Gel Tag: Meanwhile, at Cornerstone Carmel, students had a blast at Gel Tag at Refuge! The evening was filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and plenty of laughs as students faced off in fast-paced games. More than just the fun, it was a great opportunity to build relationships, welcome new faces, and enjoy time together as a student ministry community.

Kings Island: And finally, last Tuesday, 47 High School students and leaders enjoyed an exciting (and hot!) day at Kings Island. From roller coasters to water rides, the day was filled with fun, laughter, and opportunities to strengthen friendships. It was a great chance for students to connect with one another and with their leaders before the start of a new school year.
