Congregational Meeting Recap

On Monday evening, voting members of Cornerstone Lutheran Church gathered online and in person at our Carmel site for the Fall Congregational Meeting. Disciples heard what’s happening in various ministry areas and an update on Trinity Lutheran Church and School, and approved the reception of a townhouse gifted to Cornerstone. The congregation also heard from the CLC Foundation, the Treasurer of the Governing Board, and updates on the Forward Together Capital Campaign.

One of the key topics discussed during the campaign was the proposed Child Development Center at Cornerstone Fishers and the numerous obstacles and required changes presented by the City of Fishers. Because of these challenges, the Governing Board presented voters with two options: move forward with the Child Development Center or pursue a smaller expansion of the Cornerstone Fishers building that would not face the same city restrictions. After a productive discussion, those participating—both in person and online—voted to move forward with the second option and not proceed with the Child Development Center at this time.

Members also voted on the following:

Pastor Calls — Disciples unanimously voted to extend Divine Calls to the following people:

  • Logan Davis: Called to be Associate Pastor at Cornerstone Lutheran Church.
  • Pastor Travis Guse: Called to be Associate Pastor at Cornerstone Lutheran, deployed to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Governing Board Candidates — Disciples also voted on the following to the Governing Board:

  • Sara VanDyke as Secretary
  • Tony Ford and David Probst at At-Large members
  • We thank Paige Vauter, outgoing secretary, and Kari Swan and Darren Skyles, outgoing at-large members, for their time and service to the Governing Board.

For those of you who attended, either in person or online, we thank you for your patience and flexibility as we experienced technical difficulties. We appreciate your patience!
