In October 2025, Amy Bultemeier moved into the role of Indy Site Director. Following that transition, a team led by Tony Ford began the process of searching for a DCE (Director of Christian Education) to serve on the Faith Formation Team. Throughout the interview process, CLC leadership recognized an opportunity to restructure and strengthen the way ministry is led and supported across the church. This has led to some staff transitions to better support the mission and ministry of CLC.
In this new structure, Melissa Luepke will be stepping into a new role as Ministry Director. Melissa is not leaving CLC! In fact, this transition allows her to more fully use her gifts to lead, support, and move ministry forward across multiple areas of church ministry. The Director of Faith Formation will report directly to Melissa as she provides vision, leadership, and support for the ministry team.
As these conversations continued, CLC began searching for a candidate to serve as Director of Faith Formation and High School Coordinator. Through that process, we met Brian Amey. Brian is a DCE who has been serving at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas, for the past 20 years. He has deep roots in the church community, having grown up there and served as DCE. In total, Brian has been part of Holy Cross for more than 40 years. He is a respected leader in the LCMS, serving as a program dean for KINDLE First 5, arrangements manager for the LCMS Gathering, and leader within the Kansas District.
It is with joy we share that Brian Amey has accepted the position as Director of Faith Formation and High School Coordinator! Brian brings experience, leadership, strategic mindset, and heart for discipleship to CLC’s Faith Formation team. Please keep the Amey family, as well as Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wichita, in your prayers during this season of transition.
We are excited about this next chapter and the ways God continues to guide and provide for the ministry of CLC. More details and opportunities to welcome the Amey family will be shared in the coming weeks.
