Worship Volunteers

What a wonderful gift God has given us in worshipping together and serving Him in his House! You have the opportunity to be a part of this loving CLC community in so many ways, in areas like greeting, ushering, reading in worship, assisting with communion, and more. Contact the church office.

Traditional Music

We have many musical groups that assist with our Traditional services such as our adult choir, brass ensemble, wind ensemble, and handbells, as well as opportunities to share special instrumental music or lead the congregation through cantoring.

Contemporary Music

Our worship teams lead our disciples in dynamic, modern worship through music. Band members play instruments or sing, working together to create an atmosphere of praise and devotion.

Church Property/Maintenance

Do you like working out in the yard, doing things like weeding, mulching, planting, and mowing? All of our sites can always use help in these areas!

Offering Counters

Join our team that counts the weekend’s offerings and logs donations on Monday mornings.

Pew/Seat Back Fillers

Comes in as scheduled to replenish pens, prayer cards, and offering envelopes at the various worship areas.

Office Volunteers

Our Carmel office volunteers assist with jobs such as answering phones, data entry & filing, organizational tasks, and various other responsibilities around the office.

Production

Our production and tech volunteers assist with providing distraction-free worship by operating slides, lighting, and mixing our in-house and livestream sound & cameras. All levels of interest and experience are welcome!

Guest Experience

Help create a welcoming and hospitable environment for visitors and disciples by answering questions, and assisting them in getting connected with our ministry.

Comfort Dog

Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Central Indiana is an Affiliate in the K9 Comfort Dog Ministry of Lutheran Church Charities (LCC). The K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry is a national human-care ministry that embraces the unique, calming nature and skills of purebred Golden Retrievers to interact with people of all ages and circumstances who are suffering and in need.

Sharing Place Food Pantry

The Sharing Place Food Pantry is a material assistance program which provides food for families. The Sharing Place is staffed by our wonderful and talented volunteers recruited from the community and local congregations.

Family Promise Of Hendricks County

Family Promise serves as a vibrant hub where those experiencing homelessness and housing instability in Hendricks County can access affordable housing, child care, transportation, employment assistance and life skills to achieve stability.  It is open for those struggling they can eat, shower, do laundry, and access computers and phones. Family Promise Advocates provide all the services and support needed to move families and individuals from poverty to sustainable independence.

Disabilities Ministry

Cornerstone wants to be a place of hope and Christian community for everyone, including those with intellectual disabilities. If you are a caregiver of someone with special needs and would like them to be a part of these programs, or if you would like to be a helper to our Friends, please contact the church. Teens are especially welcomed to assist with these gatherings, and they can get service hours for honor societies, too!

Wheeler Mission

Cornerstone partners with Wheeler Mission in several ways, including offering overflow shelter in the winter months at CLC Indy and collecting donations when major needs arise.

The Little Timmy Project

CLC’s community partner, The Little Timmy Project has established “The Little Mom Shop” at our Indy site, helping numerous new and expecting mothers get diapers, formula, clothing, and all sorts of necessary items.

Indy Community Dinners

Our Indy site provides weekly dinners for the community, every Tuesday from 5-6 PM. You can join us for this engaging opportunity, not only to meet an important need among our neighbors, but also to build strong connections with them! Click here to sign up for one or more Tuesdays.

Children’s Choirs (Carmel/Fishers)

Kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade will explore music through singing and playing various different instruments. We always have such a fun time! The Carmel and Fishers Children’s Choirs practice once a week and sing in church one Sunday a month.

Sunday School

Sunday morning volunteers have the chance to connect with children, from ages 2 through high school, as they grow in God’s Word through fun and creative activities. Volunteers serve in a variety of roles, encouraging children and helping them learn about Jesus.

Sunday Night Connect

Sunday Night Connect is our ministry for 7th-12th grade students, held on Sunday nights. During this time, students come together for worship, break into small groups, and enjoy high-energy activities. Volunteers serve in various roles to help make the evening an exciting and meaningful experience.

Refuge (High School)

Refuge is our Wednesday night ministry for 7th -12th grade students. It is a time in the middle of the week to connect with your church community, to engage in God’s Word, and to be encouraged as you walk through your week!   Volunteers guide and support students as they
study God’s Word and build community.
