Our Comfort Dog had a busy week last week. They visited the following places:
-
- Chapel at Lutheran Child and Family Services
- Hamilton Trace Nursing Home
- Deployment to the Crittenden School District in Kentucky relating to a police/resource officer shooting
- Grandbrook Memory Care
- O’Connor House (provides a Christian home for single, pregnant, homeless women)
- City of Plainfield, visiting firefighters
The Comfort Dog Team gets busier all the time, visiting our community and bringing Christ’s comfort and peace to those who are hurting. Do you love being around dogs and people? Please consider joining the team! We are looking for:
- People to work alongside the Comfort Dogs and their handlers to visit community and church sites (“Ministry Partners”).
- Grant writers.
- People to send cards to the places we visit when we are called out of town for special occasions and events (“deployments”).
- Event organizers.
- Assistance in putting together donations to first responders.
If you have any interest in helping in this important ministry, please join us on Tuesday, April 14, at Cornerstone Carmel Room 100 at 7 p.m. to learn about all the opportunities available!
