For the last year and a half, Cornerstone Lutheran Church has been in partnership with Trinity Lutheran Church and School, walking alongside them and providing ministry support. After much prayer, discussion, and discernment among God’s people at both Trinity and Cornerstone, the congregations voted to move forward to have Trinity join Cornerstone as their fifth ministry site.
On Sunday, June 14, Trinity Lutheran Church held a Celebration Service. As the disciples gathered for worship, the focus was on celebrating God’s faithfulness and work through the disciples at Trinity for the last 151 years. The service included an official Rite of Closing of Trinity Lutheran Church, followed by the Rite of Merger with Cornerstone.
And now, the site at 16th and Post Road is Cornerstone Lutheran Church and School Warren. This begins our soft opening as Cornerstone, and we are excited to announce that we will have a grand opening worship service on Sunday, September 13, 2026!
In addition, the school will remain open! Trinity Lutheran School is now Cornerstone Lutheran School, and will continue to serve students aged PK3 through 8th grade. The merger will allow the school to offer church and school families more resources, more programming, and more pastoral care. We ask you to continue praying during this transition. We trust that God is at work among us and look forward to what lies ahead. Please pray for those who will be impacted by the Gospel through the ministry of Cornerstone Warren, especially the students and families of the school. Pray for our staff, pray for the people of Cornerstone Warren as they become part of our congregation, and pray for the people of Cornerstone as we welcome our new brothers and sisters.
God is blessing Cornerstone in amazing ways and is inviting us to follow Him as we continue forward in the mission He has set before us. To God be ALL the glory!
