On Sunday morning, after much prayer, discussion, and discernment, Cornerstone Lutheran Church voted to move forward with Trinity Lutheran Church and School as one congregation.
Each time that God has led Cornerstone to take a step of faith, He has shown His faithfulness. He provides the resources we need to grow and guides us as we strive to share the love of Jesus in the communities we serve. We expect this new opportunity will be no different.
So, what’s next? Cornerstone will continue providing pastoral ministry to the people at Trinity. In the coming weeks, leadership from both congregations will work together to finalize plans and communicate next steps. Other transitions, such as ministry planning, database inclusion, governance, legal status, etc., will also take place.
What can Cornerstone disciples do to help? First, we ask you to continue praying during this transition. We trust that God is at work among us and look forward to what lies ahead. Please pray for those that will be reached with the gospel through the ministry of Cornerstone, especially the students and families of the school. Pray for our staff, pray for the people of Trinity as they become part of our congregation, and pray for the people of Cornerstone as we welcome our new brothers and sisters. Other opportunities for involvement will arise and we will communicate them as they do.
God is blessing Cornerstone in amazing ways and is inviting us to follow Him as we continue forward in the mission He has set before us.
