What Are This Weekend's Scripture Readings?

Below is the listing of the scripture readings being used at our upcoming weekend services. You can use this list to look up those scriptures ahead of time and reflect on them prior to worship. (Scripture with an asterisk * is the basis for that week's sermon.)

Theme: "Train Like an Olympian"

As millions across the world tune in this summer to watch Olympians compete in Paris and put their training to the test, we see the value that God places on our spiritual training, as well. The life of a disciple is about growing in faith, the gift that God had given us. Similar to other training, we strive toward a goal--through discipline, growth, and community.

• July 27-28: "Training with Discipline" (Genesis 9:8-17; 1 Timothy 4:6-10*; Mark 6:45-52)
• August 3-4: "Growth and Progress" (Exodus 16:2-15; Ephesians 4:1-16; Luke 7:36-50*)
• August 10-11: "Training in Community (1 Kings 19:1-8; Hebrews 10:19-25*; John 6:35-40)
